Why this site exists
I didn’t start this site because I had it all figured out.
I started it because I got tired of being told to hand things over to someone else.
Hire a property manager. Use a financial advisor. Let your accountant handle it. And maybe, if you’re lucky, something will be left over at the end.
That model only works if you have enough money that the fees don’t matter. Most of us don’t. We’re high enough earners to have real options, a BTL property, a limited company, multiple bank accounts, a portfolio of work we’ve built ourselves – but not so flush that paying five different professionals to manage it all still leaves us ahead.
So we learn to do it ourselves. Most of it isn’t as opaque as the professionals would like you to believe. The UK has good systems and reasonable access to information. What it takes is someone who is organised, not afraid of a form, and willing to spend an evening understanding how something works.
That’s who this site is for.
ou might be juggling a rental property, a limited company and a career you’ve pieced together on your own terms. You might be a twenty-something who got into investing early and wants to actually understand what they’re holding. Someone who earns well, deploys carefully, and wants every part of their financial life to be doing something useful.
You want control. Not complexity – control. You want to know where everything is, how it’s working, and what to do next. You don’t want to be managed. You want to understand.
Frictionless Life is built from my own experience – the mistakes, the processes I’ve worked out, the letters I’ve had to write, the mortgage decisions I’ve navigated, the Companies House filings I’ve got wrong and had to fix, the work I’ve taken on and turned down and figured out how to structure. Nothing here is theoretical. It’s all lived.
The goal is a life where money stops creating friction, the admin is handled, and the systems run quietly in the background while you get on with what actually matters.
For me that’s my health, my family, my freedom to live where and how I choose.
I’m building toward that -and I hope that by sharing what I learn along the way, this site becomes part of your path to your own frictionless life.
